Start Young to Avoid Suffering

I have often spoken with school teachers, and school nurses. The majority of them told me that they are very stressed, and they feel helpless about the problems in school and the children’s health. I have spoken with children too. Some of them told me that they hate school, or don’t like school. Some are“OK” with school, but are sick often. Some have changed from public school to private school. The common issues in school and children’s lives in school are discipline problems, focus problem, bully problem, low self confidence, pear pressure problem, and emotion problem. Many children are on medication, and the kids are often ill. At the same time, school systems demand that teachers get kids reaching high academic standards with from state tests.

If we take a moment to think, it is a stressful situation. If we don’t feel well, we will not perform well. If kids don’t feel well, how can we expect them to perform well?

Wellness and self care should start at a younger age. Children’s healing ability is greater than adults; children learning ability is also better than adult. With the right methods and teaching, children can not only perform better in school, but also have better emotional stability, better immune function, better focus, and balanced energy. More importantly, they will have less medical problems later in their life.

School should be a place for kids to learn, to socialize, to share, and to grow together. It should be a good experience for every child. How can we make this happen? As a doctor of holistic medicine, I highly recommend schools bring wellness programs and start teaching self-care in the school system. This will raise awareness of mind body connection and wellbeing, guide children to have a better and more balanced life, provide a holistic way of teaching so that children will learn efficiently. I am sure we would see a big difference in a short time. If we start to make a difference now, our future can only be better, not worse.

My new program “Qi Gong for Kids” can be a start for children to experience this wonderful healing and wellness exercise, and a way for them to begin to learn how to focus on their own health, to experience “feeling good”, “feeling confident”. Doing this wellness exercise, children can feel an immediate change in energy and emotion.

Despite the many negative events in our life, we must continue to put out positive energy, build up positive energy, and share the positive energy. This keeps us strong and united. Only if we all pull our energy together can we change our health, our society, and make our world a better place.
